  • In 2017, the independent geotechnical and environmental consulting services firm Golder Associates updated the study to assess the contribution of the project to the soundscape. Conducted following the guidelines of the Ministry of the Environment, background noise levels from existing road traffic were used to establish the applicable noise limits.(Noise Modelling StudyV1.1 Oct 2017)

The potential soundscape of the project was estimated at five locations within the vicinity of the site:

The study concluded that noise levels from the new facilities would be less than the applicable noise limits. In other words, Golder concluded that there was no impact beyond the applicable noise emission standards.
